As Canada Research Chair in Health Informatics Carolyn has lead ground breaking research to enable high frequency data to be used to improve health and wellness. Carolyn will share her research vision of how analysing every heart beat and every breath can now give premature babies a better chance at life, tactical operators better ways to manage their physical and mental health and help astronauts manage their health so they can make great discoveries when they go to Mars and beyond.

A seven minute masterclass with Rodney Brooks, 2015 Advance Global Australian Advanced Manufacturing Award winner and Founder, Chairman and CTO, Rethink Robotics on the transition to collaborative robots in the work force. Traditional industrial robots have been isolated in safety cages, are programmed in computer languages, and take months to install.  A new class of collaborative robots are safe to be interspersed with people, are shown how to do their tasks, and take just hours from out of the box to be doing useful work. Manufacturing is changing.

The Digital Revolution and its effect on the Culture Of Creativity in Australia
Facilitated by Craig Davis, Co-Founder and CMO, Sendle and former Co-Chairman and CCO of Publicis Mojo Australia and New Zealand, this session focused on panelists views on building international brands, how their industries have been affected by digital disruption and how Australian creativity is reacting to this digital incursion. Terry Savage, Chairman, Cannes Lions and Samantha Wills, Founder, SAMANTHA WILLS and Buzz Usborne, Digital Designer, Head of Design, Sendle joined this panel.

Sustainability, Talent, Technology - Futureproofing Australia
What would a futureproofed Australia look like from an environmental perspective and what should we be doing more of? Is it possible to build an internationally competitive brand from Australia and what does that require in terms of talent? Can Sydney become one of the top 10 technology cities in the world? How do we attract and foster the right talent? These questions and more were examined by our expert panel. Featuring Cameron Hepburn, Co-Founder, Climate Bridge, Vivid Economics and Aurora Energy Research and 2015 Advance Global Australian Clean Technology Award winner, Roy Green, Dean, UTS Business School and Dr Russell Howard, Chairman of Board, NeuClone Pty Ltd, Head Commercial Strategy, Kinghorn Centre for Clinical Genomics and 2013 Advance Global Australian Biotechnology Award winner. Speaking from their own experience, our panel session hosted by James Mabbott, Head of Innovate, KPMG Australia discussed what it means to embrace failure, what lessons we can learn from it and what we can and should do to change our appetite for risk and fear of failure as a nation. The Return to Aus: Following the Yellow Brick Road Home
How do you decide when is the right time to return home? How do you apply your international experience in a primarily domestic focused market? Which companies are actively recruiting those with offshore experience and how is that affecting their growth? How can you remain connected internationally from Australia? Our panel of Australia returnees achieved significant career success overseas but like many Australian immigrants, the pull home won out over the many benefits of an expat lifestyle. We take a closer look at what the obstacles, opportunities and challenges are along the yellow brick road and the journey home and how Australia can better leverage its incredibly valuable human resource of internationally connected people from returning exchange students to board level returnees.
