We’re looking for innovative and/or first-movers, working on the cutting edge of their field, including biotechnology. The key is the ability to translate science into business that affects the lives of people and the planet.

This includes careers across molecular biology, bio-engineering, medicine, nutrition, and health care (such as drug production, pharmacogenomics, gene therapy or genetic testing) as well as research and development.

We broadened the scope of the category in 2015 and the winner was Dr Karen Day, Dean of Science, University of Melbourne. Previous winners from the Biotechnology category include Dr Richard Pestell, Founder, ProstaGene and AAA Phoenix, Christian Behrenbruch, Founder and CEO, ImaginAb and Dr Russell HowardChairman of Board, NeuClone Pty Ltd and Head Commercial Strategy, Kinghorn Centre for Clinical Genomics.
